MARTIN GARRIX REFUSED AT NIGHTCLUB HE WAS SUPPOSED TO HEADLINEJanuary 5, 2014
Despite pleas from some people in the line who recognized Garrix, The bouncers didn’t move an inch.
Oh.. the irony. Martin Garrix was booked for a US tour date in LA. Entire town excited since Garrix single-handedly had THE hit of 2013 with ANIMALS and is the youngest DJ ever to top the Beatport charts. This time, that last part got him into a bit of trouble. For this particular night, his limo driver was late. And the show was about to start. Concerned about disappointing his fans, Garrix decided to head to the club himself and flagged down a cabbie.
Once at the club, there were a ton of people waiting in line. Garrix got to the bouncers and showed ID. However, Garrix at only 18 years old didn’t meet the 21+ requirement for the night. Moreover, his last name is different than his artist name Garrix. When he told the bouncers he was the headliner for the night, they didn’t believe him. To make things worse: Garrix cell phone had died and he wasn’t able to make a call to his agent or the promoter. Despite pleas from some people in the line who recognized Garrix, The bouncers didn’t move an inch.
After heading back to the hotel and recharging his phone, Garrix was finally able to settle things. Ultimately, he started his set an hour late. But his fans loved every beat he threw upon them and luckily, the night was saved.
